The goal of this study is to document the existing situation concerning the numbers, the legal status, the working status and activities and the social security of the immigrants. Furthermore, the general profile of the immigrants is presented along with research data concerning both directly and indirectly the procedures of becoming legal of the immigrants, emphasizing on economic immigrants of the Third World Countries, problems which have been caused, government policies, laws and procedures that have taken place since 1991 when Greece started to organize its immigration policy until today. The finding of this research are the outcome of information collected primarily from books, published researches of several universities and other public institutes related to immigration. Furthermore, the research of the existing laws and several electronic sources revealed important data helpful to this study.
