The present essay deals with the term of shipwrecks and their removal. The main causes of a wreck and the negative effects affect humans, environment, marine life, economy and tourism. Recorded and analyzed the factors that affect the surrounding of a wreck removal operation. A key element is the weather so as to be successful the wreck removal operation. Describe the methods that are being used to remove a wreck and the basic equipment used in every method. The insurance and law framework is one of the basic elements of this thesis. International Conventions and Laws contribute to the completion of the legal framework. The case study of the wreck of cruise ship «Sea Diamond» and its impact on all sectors helps to understand the term of wreck. In conclusion, the shipwreck and its removal is a complicate procedure which, however, must be observed by an institutional framework mandatory for all states.
