Abstract

The topic of this diplomatic work is: "The regime of navigation in the Straits of Bosporus and Dardanelles: Turkish aspirations and international navigation". This study initially aims to explore the historical development in the regime of navigation in this area and then find the connection and correlation with the requirements of the current reality and corresponding to the institutional framework. Also I tried to analyze the Turkish aspiration on a horizon from the treaty of Lausanne (1923) and the Montreux (1936) until our days. In this region the regime of navigation is being defined according with the international agreements and internal regulations of the country. Finally this work ends with a critical approach on the legal interests of the international community as it concern navigation option and even more give the general strategic interests of this country.
