Development and strategic planning of the agricultural sector in a banking environment

Abstract
This study focused on the development and strategic planning of the agricultural sector in the banking environment, with particular emphasis on the role of Piraeus Bank. Starting with an introduction and analysis of the agricultural sector in Greece, the study explored its current and future situation, opportunities and strengths. The Rural Development Programme 2014-2027, the benefits of the CAP for farmers and investments in sustainable development were examined, discussing the European Commission's recommendations for the strategic planning of the CAP. The study also analyzed the situation in the banking sector after the financial crisis, mergers and banking strategic moves, studying the case of Piraeus Bank, as well as the acquisition of Agricultural and General Banks. Finally, the study proposed the Piraeus Bank's entry plan into the agricultural sector, analyzed the implementation steps, the benefits for the bank and the correlation with procurement and integration strategies, leading to the conclusion and conclusion.
