MLC 2006Abstract
MLC 2006 is a considerable step towards the establishment of the rights, limitations and standard procedures at maritime labour. The level of acceptance and compliance with the standards of MLC 2006 is monitored through the procedures of Port State Control in compliance with the standards of MOU where they belong. Contemporary developments increasingly highlight the need for adaptation in line with emerging trends such as ESG principles, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), and Artificial Intelligence (AI), in order for the maritime industry and its workforce to continue to be up to date. At the same time, main goal must be to improve working conditions, aligned with modern standards, contributing to stronger safety standards in the maritime industry.
