Green Public Procurement (GPP) has emerged as a critical policy tool for sustainable development, aiming to reduce the environmental footprint of public procurement while fostering the circular economy. This study examines best practices and failures in the implementation of GPP across the European Union, focusing on countries such as Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, France, and Greece. The key findings highlight that the success of GPP depends on institutional commitment, training of public officials, the adoption of circular business models, and the provision of financial incentives for businesses. The study proposes policy measures to strengthen regulatory frameworks, promote pilot programs, and leverage digital technologies to enhance the efficiency of green public procurement. Future directions emphasize the importance of international cooperation, the use of artificial intelligence in procurement management, and the development of sustainable supply chains through public-private partnerships.
