The term emotional intelligence refers to the ability of a person to understand the
emotions of others as well as his or her own and to manage them in the best possible
way. The essence of emotional intelligence is to be able to help the individual to
socialise and work better according to the environment in which he or she finds himself
or herself. An important element here is how modern day leadership can use emotional
intelligence through the various theoretical models to their advantage. This paper aims
to answer these questions through an analysis of the literature and presentation of a case
study of a Greek company in the technology sector.
