Of all processes that could bring about change and modernization to any organization in these modern times, whether public or private, digital transformation. Similarly, radical changes have taken place in organizations due to the integration of technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data analysis, and automated processes. Besides, strategic management plays an important role in integrating these digital technologies and provides a way to use them in a continuous and efficient way.
Public digitization of administrative processes is being done, development of the e-government system is being carried out in order to provide transparency to the public sector, reduce bureaucracy, and generally raise the quality of citizens' service. Private businesses have also adopted digital technologies, boosting innovation, making businesses more competitive, and allowing for the development of new business models.
This work presents the effect of digital transformation in both sectors, having in view beneficiaries, strategies, and challenges organizations. Using examples as the cases of Amazon, Tesla, and Greece's myDATA system, the points of difference and similarity in the use of digital transformation are brought into view. In the end, the paper compares the effects, future trends, and strategic challenges organizations face during the transition to the digital world.
