| dc.description.abstractEN | Retail electricity contracts aim to provide a service necessary for the proper functioning of society as a whole. Unlike traditional goods, electricity is intangible and is usually consumed at the moment of delivery. Contracts are tools for implementing broader policy objectives, such as the integration of renewable energy sources and consumer protection. In order to make electricity available to consumers in the modern retail electricity market, a whole web of contractual relationships is being developed. The electrified installation must be connected to the distribution network and the customer must be entitled to use this connection in order to be supplied with electricity. Retail electricity contracts are categorized into different types in such a way that they meet the needs of both consumers and the market. Given that the categorization of contracts shows great diversity and variations in their basic types, it is appropriate to refer to the most common basic models. Empowerment of the Greek Consumers can be achieved with intelligent networks, with electricity consumption management systems, and the development of innovative pricing methods. Digital Services, Tools to Energy Consumers, and Investments in renewable energy will de-carbonize the grid will help Greece adapt its market to European goals for a greener future. | el |
