Abstract

The Arab Spring marked a new beginning of demonstrations and protests aimed at asserting the interests of peoples living under an oppressive regime. Its beginnings are placed in 2010 and it involved many forces, each of which aimed at its personal growth and stabilization. The center of it was the state of Syria. This paper explores the involvement of various states in it with an emphasis on Syria and the Civil War that broke out there. Also, the effects of the Syrian crisis on the power centers of the system to which it is a part are emphasized. Special mention is made of the involvement of two sovereign countries, Russia and Turkey, in the events and the corresponding consequences they received. Τhus, a broad analysis of the Syrian involvement and actors surrounding it in the Arab Spring is carried out, citing information that can serve as a reference point for further analysis.
