As the world seeks to transition towards a sustainable energy future, MRE technologies, such as offshore wind and tidal energy, offer great potential. However, their deployment and operation can have significant impacts on marine ecosystems. Adaptive management, as an iterative and flexible approach, can help address these challenges by integrating learning, monitoring, and stakeholder engagement into decision-making processes. This thesis aims to examine the key principles, strategies, and challenges associated with adaptive management in MRE and provides recommendations for its effective implementation to enhance sustainability and ecosystem resilience. | el |
