| dc.description.abstract | Η πανδημία του COVID-19 επέφερε αναρίθμητες αλλαγές, όχι μόνο στην
καθημερινότητα των ανθρώπων, αλλά και σε όλους τους τομείς, όπως και στην
οικονομία. Στην παρούσα εργασία εξετάστηκαν δεδομένα από τέσσερις μετοχές του
ιατρο-φαρμακευτικού τομέα που είναι εισαγμένες στο χρηματιστήριο της Ν. Υόρκης,
με στόχο να φανεί αν επηρεάστηκαν με κάποιον τρόπο από την ανακοίνωση του
Π.Ο.Υ. για την αναβάθμιση της νόσου του COVID-19 σε πανδημία. Μετά από
εξέταση που έγινε με το υπόδειγμα CAPM και με βάση τα αποτελέσματα του δείκτη
Sharpe, προέκυψε ότι οι μετοχές φαίνεται να βελτίωσαν αρκετά τα στοιχεία τους στην
περίοδο μετά την ανακοίνωση. Παρόλα αυτά, όμως, τα νούμερα παρέμειναν αρκετά
χαμηλά, δείχνοντας τη σοβαρότητα των προβλημάτων που δημιούργησε η πανδημία
και στις χρηματιστηριακές αγορές. Τα συμπεράσματα που προέκυψαν από αυτή την
εργασία θα πρέπει να εξυπηρετήσουν τους ενδιαφερόμενους επενδυτές ώστε να
λάβουν καλύτερες αποφάσεις, κυρίως σε περιπτώσεις όπου οι οικονομίες εισέρχονται
σε καταστάσεις ύφεσης από εξωτερικούς παράγοντες. | el |

| dc.description.abstractEN | The COVID-19 pandemic has brought innumerable changes, not only in people's
daily lives, but in all sectors, as well as in the economy. In the present study, data
from four shares of the medical-pharmaceutical sector that are listed on the New York
Stock Exchange were examined, in order to see if they were affected in any way by
the announcement of the WHO, to upgrade COVID-19 disease to a pandemic. An
examination of the CAPM model and the results of the Sharpe index showed that the
shares appeared to have improved significantly in the post-announcement period.
Nevertheless, the numbers remained quite low, indicating the seriousness of the
problems created by the pandemic in the stock markets. The conclusions drawn from
this work should serve the interested investors in order to make better decisions,
especially in cases where the economies are entering a recession by external factors. | el |
