Driven by the Greek economic crisis of the period (2009-2018) and any possible solutions that had been proposed for the local economy to be boosted, it was deemed appropriate to be examined a possible relationship of economic growth with three basic variable of each economy. Specifically, the correlation of nominal GDP with incoming tourism revenues, trade balance and industrial production was examined. The approach did not include data only from Greece but from 27 countries around the world. They were split into two clusters, according to whether they are Eurozone member or not. The first of them includes 16 countries participates in the Eurozone and the second one 11 countries with their own currency. The data analysis was performed using STATA software and after tests that took place the most reliable method for interpreting the model were Fixed Effects. The results showed that there is a correlation between GDP and international tourism revenues in both groups of countries, while only in countries outside the euro area the industrial production index was correlated with GDP.
