Abstract

The Erasmus+ program is a key pillar of Europeanization in areas such as education, training, youth and sport. The current study examined the European Union's policy on sport. The main objective of this study is whether it was possible to implement this program in the field of sports in Greece, at a sub-national level, in the period 2014- 2020. The method used was qualitative research, with analysis of texts and interviews. In conclusion, the difficulties of implementing the existing program were identified. Finally, the results of the study provide proposals for the next seven years, 2021-2027, so that the implementation of the Erasmus+ program for sports is increasingly included in the agenda of Greek politics at sub-national level.
