| dc.description.abstract | Σε αυτή τη διατριβή θα ασχοληθώ με το ζήτημα της πειρατείας στη σύγχρονη εποχή ως ένα διεθνές έγκλημα που αντιμετωπίζεται από μια σειρά νομικών κανόνων του διεθνούς δικαίου καθώς και το δευτερεύον ζήτημα της αντιμετώπισης πειρατών που συλλαμβάνονται, καθώς θα το δούμε γύρω προκύπτει συγκεκριμένα νομικά ζητήματα του Διεθνούς Δικαίου. Θα εξετάσω επίσης ορισμένα ζητήματα που προκύπτουν από την πρακτική εφαρμογή του νομικού πλαισίου για την πειρατεία και τους πειρατές και την αποτελεσματικότητα αυτού του πλαισίου, την επάρκειά του και τη συμβολή του διεθνούς δικαίου στην πρόληψη και αντιμετώπιση του φαινομένου της σύγχρονης πειρατείας. Θα παρουσιάσω και θα εξετάσω συγκεκριμένες σκέψεις που έχουν δημιουργηθεί στην παγκόσμια ναυτιλιακή κοινότητα για την αντιμετώπιση του φαινομένου με τη συμμετοχή και χρήση των υπηρεσιών ιδιωτικών εταιρειών ασφαλείας. | el |

| dc.description.abstractEN | In this dissertation I will deal with the issue of piracy in modern times as an international crime dealt with by a set of legal rules of international law as well as the secondary issue of dealing with pirates who are arrested, since as we will see around it arises particular legal issues of International Law. I will examine also some issues that arise from the practical application of the legal framework dealing with piracy and pirates and the effectiveness of this framework, its adequacy and the contribution of international law to the prevention and dealing with the phenomenon of modern piracy. I will present and examine specific thoughts that have created in global maritime community to tackling the phenomenon by involving and using the services of private security companies. | el |
