Technology has radically changed every aspect of human daily life. Even the way in which goods and services are consumed. The use of internet to meet needs is increasingly adopted by consumers and businesses.
Individuals through sharing services offer services to other individuals covering needs without the presence of natural shops.
The purpose of this master’s thesis is to present an innovative business idea. The creation of a service sharing website. The services are going to be entirely for pets and the main service is pet hospitality.
While the number of pet owners is constantly increasing, the demand for services is increasing too, but there is not enough worldwide supply of hosting services. Especially through sharing between individuals.
The present work through the theoretical part will present the current situation in the field of pets, how the sharing services work and competition cases. Through the practical part will explore the characteristics needed for website design and creation, the business relative part and the creation of a template website.
The present study concluded that the idea is doable. Demand is higher than supply, especially in the Greek market. The resources required to create and continue the page are feasible. The creation of the platform have as a result improvement and development of living standards for people and pets.
This paper consists of two parts.
Theoretical part A:
Chapter One The data on pets, problems and existing hosting services
Chapter Two Research on the global sharing economy, its advantages, disadvantages and tactics. Following are data from business models, financial and the legal. Characteristics that need special attention to develop an innovation in the field. Coming up with statistics and examples of other businesses.
Chapter Three Presents all the essentials of competing companies abroad. The technical, functional and user-friendly features are recorded.
Practical part B:
Chapter Four Lists of the key features contained in at hosPETality.com and how the site design comes out.
Chapter Five Includes the complete business model of the idea. Important concepts such as strategy, initial team, competition analysis, market analysis and financial plan.
Chapter Six Concluding this chapter leads to the creation of the site and its evaluation by third parties.
