The present project examines an important issue concerning the evolution of medicine, which is called ‘stem cells’. According to their definition, stem cells are arterial cells which contribute to the creation of all human cells. For this reason, scientists are interested in the research of stem cells as it is believed stem cells are the future of medicine. In this project basic meanings and usages of stem cells are analyzed. Furthermore, ethics and legal issues that arise from the different stem cell sources are analyzed and whether it is socially acceptable to carry out research about them or not. Finally, stem cell banks are mentioned and so are the laws that should exist about them in order that they work according to the international standards and specifications.
