dc.description.abstract	Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία έχει ως αντικείμενο την μελέτη της περίπτωσης των ελληνικών συμφερόντων εισηγμένων σε διεθνή χρηματιστήρια ναυτιλιακών εταιριών. Για το σκοπό αυτό, εκπονείται Χρηματοοικονομική Ανάλυση σε δείγμα εταιριών του συγκεκριμένου κλάδου για την περίοδο 2003-2013. Η επιλογή της συγκεκριμένης περιόδου έγινε με γνώμονα να παρουσιαστεί η οικονομική κατάσταση του κλάδου πριν και μετά την εμφάνιση της παγκόσμιας οικονομικής κρίσης. Οι εταιρίες κατηγοριοποιούνται σε τρεις υποκλάδους ανάλογα με το αντικείμενο δραστηριότητας τους [dry bulk, wet, container]. Κύριος στόχος είναι η ανάδειξη των ιδιαίτερων χαρακτηριστικών του καθενός υποκλάδου και των εταιριών που τον απαρτίζουν. Βασικό εργαλείο για την ανάλυση της χρηματοοικονομικής κατάστασης των υπό μελέτη εταιριών είναι οι χρηματοοικονομικοί δείκτες [financial ratios]. Προκειμένου να σχηματιστεί σαφής και σε βάθος χρόνου εικόνα βελτίωσης ή χειροτέρευσης εξετάζονται οι τιμές τους διαχρονικά. Ταυτόχρονα, επιχειρείται σύγκριση σε διεπιχειρησιακό επίπεδο. Έτσι, διαμορφώνεται το χρηματοοικονομικό προφίλ και εξάγονται χρήσιμα συμπεράσματα για τη γενικότερη επίδοση και πορεία των εταιριών.	el

dc.description.abstractEN	The subject of this master thesis is the case study of Greek’s interests shipping companies listed in foreign stock exchanges. For this purpose a financial analysis is taking place deriving from a sample of companies of the particular sector for the period from 2003 to 2013. The reason for choosing the above mention period is to present the economic situation of the shipping sector before and after the appearance of the global economic crisis. The companies are categorized to three subsectors according to their operational activities [dry bulk, wet, container]. The main aim of the study is to pinpoint the special characteristics not only the subsector but the companies which belong to each one of these subsectors. Basic tool for the analysis of the financial situation of the selected companies is the financial ratios. In order to have clear and long term picture regarding the performance of the selected companies the financial ratios are examined for a long period of time. At the same time, it is attempted a cross-company checking. Thus the financial profile for each sector and for each company is being formed and useful conclusions are deducted for the overall performance and progress of the companies.	el
