This particular thesis aims at pinpointing the potential benefits of using Open source CMS ,as well as Web 2.0 technologies and their utilization in an electronic music magazine. The arrival of the World Web 2.0 has created new data in developing technologies and a whole new dimension of creating digital content and operating it. This new form of the Worldwide Web has encouraged users’ participation and the production of a richer, more modern and democratic content. The theoretical part of this thesis describes new technologies used on the Internet to create dynamic websites that encourage user-cooperation as well as the proper content to foster interaction. Furthermore, it describes the way in which Web 2.0 technologies are applied nowadays in various websites, with the purpose to inform. Moreover, it provides an overview of CMS; how operable various levels within it are, as well as a presentation of its content. In addition, it describes how new media operate (web social media, RSS Feeds) and how we can use all these to promote websites. To sum up, we utilize a solution for our website, through which we present the tools and applications of the technologies mentioned above, by showing what it can offer to this new form of content. Finally, it should be noted that the web application described at this thesis, a part of a wider information system, and it is presented on a second thesis entitled "Development of a dynamic website (music e-magazine) by using and extending a CMS».
