The use of new technologies in school seeks to improve the achievement of learning objectives by stimulating the students, while sound, image, color produces their interest.
This paper presents the analysis, the design and implementation of an educational software that acts as a supporting material for the history lesson in the third grade of primary school. The design principles of educational software were based on learning theories of behaviorism and constructivism. The choice of the content and structure of the software was based on the textbook and the curriculum of the Ministry of Education.
The application was developed with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, in the C # programming language for ASP.NET Web Application and SqlServer 2008 R2 for the base construction.
Then an attempt was made through appropriate educational research to assess the effectiveness and usefulness of educational software "Greek Mythology" during the history class in the third grade of primary school. The results showed that the students had a positive effect on their performance. The software was adequate, in terms of the achievement of learning objectives by meeting the basic criteria of attention, relevance, confidence and satisfaction of teaching ARCS model.
