The season we live in is characterized by the rapid development of technology and
the integration of most areas of life. With the penetration of advanced technologies in the
medical world overturned objective obstacles that existed in the past, and is also available
with the necessary tools and methods for providing improved health services more efficient
and more reliable. Specifically, the Information Society radically changes the Health
sector, by introducing changes in the management of medical data filing systems, which
aim to properly manage medical information of a patient. This is because in medical
science, more and more there is need to collect the greatest amount of information for a
more complete picture of the health of a patient as possible. So, it has been created the
need for easy access to all of the patient data, the processing of which would result in the
conduct of proper conclusions as regards the image of medical examinations and future
actions concerning the patient. So finally the need for the creation and integration of
medical records in many stages and aspects of health care now seems imperative.
Despite these developments, the sector of health sciences seem to halt the issue of
adoption of new technologies in various stages of implementation. In Greece there are
rarely used the Health Information Systems due to significant shortages of trained and
qualified staff. This is due firstly to the absence-from the regular budget of health
institutions when sufficient investment rate for the development of information technology
and secondly the lack of educational programs trainning on the use and exploitation of
these systems.
The implementation of τηεσε training programs which can evolve by distance and
not requiring the physical presence of learners seems to give a solution to the above
problem. The e-learning and the systems that support it offer a number of advantages to the
professional or health. The different educational levels of students demanding schedules
would make it impossible for a traditional method of teaching while participating in
distance learning programs can be accessed anytime and from anywhere in the training
materials(video, text, images).
The systems have been created to make e-learning can be more efficient when
implemented on the basis of theeWorkflow Technology. This technology helps to provide
alternative learning routes to meet the needs and learning styles of trainees. Furthermore
given the right activities in the right student at the right time so the students do not get lost
in the crowd of the information posted by the teacher. This is achieved through the
definition of the series of operations and support down procedure different models
(workflow models). The activities of learning modeled and managed as business processes
by following a well-defined pattern.
The aim of this thesis is to implement a procedure-e-learning system for training
health professionals in the subject of the electronic health record (EHR). More specifically
to the BPM Studio tool of Oracle, a training program is implemented in the form of
seminar. This training program will apply the theory of blended learning with the help of
strategic learning direct teaching aimed at providing relevant knowledge to the traineeshealth
professionals in order to enable them to participate in the development and
operation of e-health systems and services.
