This paper discusses the application of the principles and tools of Project
Management in Public Administration. After presenting the necessity of both
the broader science of project management and the need to implement it in
public interest projects, we will move to a literature review of Project
Management, with emphasis on the tools and concepts that they find
application in Public Administration. Then we move on to a brief presentation
of certain Project Management case studies in public interest projects before
moving on to our main subject, the presentation of the project to digitize the
Legal Files of the Municipality of Athens, which will serve as an example of
basic Project Management steps. Finally, we present our key conclusions and
recommendations for further research on our subject.
