In the pThe way, with which natural gas is extracted, it’s pumping and processing so as to get Liquefied Natural Gas will be presented. At the same time there will be parallel references to environmental issues and the institutional framework which governs it.
Following that, the way of transfer, its regasification and storage will be presented led by the institutional framework and analyzing environmental issues throughout all the above stages.
The liquefied natural gas is determined as a viable alternative fuel which can be used for the motion of all types of ships instead of oil.
The technological progress in the field of the use of LNG is analyzed and its benefits. Also, the institutional framework in international, communal and internal laws which bind the extracting, processing, transporting and storing companies.
Factors which influence the supply and demand of ships of liquefied natural gas are mentioned.
Also mentioned are the preconditions for the creation of strategically located stations of refueling so as to create the proper conditions for the increase of the availability of the fuel.
Conclusions are derived and propositions are given for further scientific speculation.
