The establishment of a Centre for Physical and Medical Rehabilitation is a complex process as it requires the combination of scientific knowledge on the field of physiotherapy as well as (knowledge) on the field of economics, business and administration.
The present dissertation/study aims to evaluate a business plan for the establishment of a Centre for Physical and Medical Rehabilitation. The legislative framework for the founding and operation of such a centre along with the provided services and its basic operational principles are presented in full detail.
In addition, all the necessary data regarding the timeline of the investment and the financing along with its cost are clearly stated. The present dissertation/ study examines alternative operational scenarios, prioritizes and selects the most advantageous with the aid of evaluation criteria of NPV. The first of the two alternative scenarios to be assessed is the one regarding the operation of the Centre only with private customers, while the second one examines the operation of the Centre not only with private clients but with insurance funds, namely the National Health Service Organization (EOPYY) as well. The assessment is made over a period of ten years and a discount rate of 5%. A comparison of two alternative scenarios shows that the selection of the second one is more advantageous.
