The goal of the present thesis is to present the most important motivational theories of
human resourses and to investigate the degree of personnel’s (managerial, medical,
healthcare, paramedics, technical) satisfaction and motivation at the hospital of divine
providencce “Pammakaristos”.
Firstly, the definition of motivation is referred among with the affecting factors of
personnel’s productivity. Furthermore, the theories of behavior’s motivations and the
conduct and personnality theories are being presented. Moreover, at the end of the
first chapter there is a reference at the notions of corporate’s culture and values.
At the second chapter an extensive analysis of the earliest human resourses
motivational theories is presented. Those theories were appeared for the first time at
the decade of 1960. The Maslow’s hierarchy theory of needs, the Alderfer ERG
motivational theory, the Mc Cleeland’s theory of the three acquired needs, the
Herzberg’s two factors theory and the McGregor theory of X and Y are analysed.
In the third chapter, the most contemporary motivational theories are presented, to
wit: the Vroom’s theory of expectations, the Porter’s and Lawler’s model of
expectation, the Locke’s theory of goal setting, the Adam’s theory of equality, and the
Skinner’s theory of functional addiction.
At the fourth chapter, there is a critical appraisal of motivation, a reference at the
contributing factors to personnel’s satisfaction and at the problems, the guidelines and
the methods of motivation. At the end of this chapter there is a reference at the
systems of fees and additional provisions.
Finally, at the research part of the thesis there is the presentation of the results after
the research that has been made at the hospital of divine provision “Pammakaristos”
in July and August 2015. After the goal and the method of the research is refered, the
results are analysed and there is also a contrasting approach with other similar
researches. At the end of the chapter there are the main conclusions of the research.
