This thesis explores the internal and external factors affecting the sustainability of startups. The reason why I decided created the challenge to explore the present subject, was the great expansion taken by these companies in recent years, at a time when Greece is experiencing an extremely difficult economic situation. It is significant that from 2010 to 2013 the number of startups has increased tenfold, and the total number of investments has increased sharply. This rapid growth of startups, the conversion process of conception of the idea - identification of opportunity up to the final product / service, a sense of collective work in the first stages of business, the prospects of these startups in the difficult economic environment, and the business models they use to set targets and actions were the main motivation to study in depth the factors that identify and define these companies. This research focuses on two factors, among others, the team and funding.
In the context of work, empirical approach is performed in Greek startups through a questionnaire. The questionnaire is structured so as to draw general data on the profile of these companies and to identify the major internal and external factors arising from internal and external environments of the enterprise. This process presents the main results arising from the research, and draws conclusions and recommendations for further research.
