Abstract

The rapid progress of technology that we are experiencing nowadays, has substantially contributed to the evolution, development as well as the simplification of our numerous everyday needs and desires. A field that has significantly profited by the progress of the technological means is the field of education. In the past, education was considered to be a privilege of a limited number of people as a lot of inaccessible material and non material goods related to either transport or expensive equipment were required. The vast variety of devices with ability to internet connection has made education accessible to many people all over the world since distances have been completely annihilated. This is a fact that has given incentives to universities and other different types of organizations to support a distance learning system that fulfills their needs, by increasing the number of people they are addressing to. Rapid technological advancements have been noticed in the field of mobile learning. This dissertation focuses on mobile learning, since the huge number of smart phones available in the market has given the opportunity for great advancements in the field of distance education and more specifically mobile learning. In this dissertation, a complete application will be created which will use the mobile learning technology. The application will be addressed to students as well as professionals in the field of marketing who want to check or expand their knowledge in this particular domain. The application uses code written in java language and is developed with the official ADT.
