Abstract
Small enterprises have been constantly changing through the last 10 years. The rapid development and continuous growth of customers set the imperative to create a single corporate web system for the management of everyday tasks (Project Management Software), in order to achieve a better operation of the company.
A Software Project Management and Operations (Project Management Software) must
include services such as assessment, planning, scheduling, cost control, resource allocation and communication, which are used to address the complexity of projects.
The purpose of this thesis, is to evaluate the market for project management software and rate the most popular currently available solutions, in order to create an application fills in the gaps, that the market currently has.
We have created an application that exceeds the present standards and aims to outperform the competition.
The system includes the following key features and characteristics:
Main page with all the works in progress and the number of jobs in these
Footer on every project with detailed information about it, such as statistics, division of work to employees, dynamic evolution project, static information such as name of client, location, phone numbers, passwords etc.
User interaction with the system (renewal status of work, contract reviews, etc.)
Implementation with Open Source techniques.
We have also created a business plan that could follow the application in its lifecycle and help it advance in the market really quickly and with appropriate results.
Our main advantage is that our system can be easy to use but with many utilities at the same time. The operations that are most commonly used, such as task assigning and task status changes or timing these activities, have been designed in a way that lets the user spend the minimum of time to accomplish. On the other hand, we have created and environment that lets users, get detailed statistics, filtered by a very interesting list of aspects. There is no corresponding Open Source product that is made available by a Greek company. This automatically makes our platform a leader for the Greek Industry, which would automatically make us a leader at the Greek Market for Project Management Tools.
