Abstract

The objective of this work is to study and describe the important parameters within the development and materialization of a secure patient management system, in the framework of electronic health. The project is reported in processes as design of medical processes and their transcription in digital models, integration of relational database management systems so that they can store and manage medical files that contain clinical and other data and incorporation of system operations in the frame of the health network. The methodology of digital design and standardization of clinical processes and application of electronic medical records is analyzed in the frame of a hospital information system. The designing is based on the following issues: quality, efficiency, safety reliability, interoperability, communication, continuity. The medical record of each patient includes: identity data, demographic data, medical history, type and description of diseases, operations. Also therapeutic treatments that have been applied, hospitalizations that have been realized, debits to health insurance, etc. The segments of the integrated patient management system are described as part of the interconnected environment of health. The access of doctors, administrative and other involved persons and institutions in the medical and other data of the health record is achieved through wired or wireless connections to the network. Moreover the process of collaboration of clinical doctors and experts of information technology is analyzed to the implementation of the secure patient management system in the quest of the result optimization. The stages of growth and implementation of the system are described as well as the deliverables each phase. Financial issues as the financing and the costs are studied so that they are contrasted in the profits in terms of productivity, precision, efficiency, effectiveness, etc. Other issues as management and organization and personnel training as well have been taken under consideration in the analysis.
