The objective of the present paper is to present the economic and cost analysis, based on economic and technical methods, of the potential investment projects about the possibility of transferring the desalination plant inside the facilities of the company. In particular, the viability of the investment of the strategic decision of the company about the desalination plant transfer is explored. At first, introductory elements about power and desalination plants are presented, as well as elements about the electricity generation department, that is natural gas-operated combined cycle units. Then, the selection process of the right location of the investment and the different ways to supply the project are described. This is followed by the SWOT analysis of the combined cycle power plant and the strategic planning of the investment. Finally, as far the scheduling of the project and the financial analysis of the investment are concerned, tools such as MS Project and the Net Present Value method are used in order to conclude to safe conclusions about the viability of the investment projects explored with a view to the current situation and the function of the desalination plant in power stations.
