The European Union has supported us and continues to fund our programs involving health. Very important role he has played in programs dealing with mental health and finance course and give the right guidance to achieve their respective goals. Starting in Belgium and France psychiatric reform began with very good prospects bringing quite satisfactory results. In Greece the need for change in the direction of mental health in the 1980s with the publication of the conditions in the psychiatric care of Leros. So the Greek society began to know the terms ' deinstitutionalisation ' and ' de¬institutionalization '. With the accession of Greece to the European programs psychiatric reform continued essentially until 2008 they stopped due to funding from the European Union and the invasion of the economic crisis our country has not been able to accomplish. The PS.N.A. "Dromokaitio" is the second largest hospital in the country and the first to be implemented in European Union programs for institutionalization, then of course the hospital of Leros. In this paper we have collected financial data but also data concerning the operation given to us by the financial department of the hospital to be able to do and little economic assessment and the overall outcome of psychiatric reform. So according to the above suggest a small reduction in hospitalization costs but not to the extent expected after the completion of the program. Psychiatric reform seems not complete so they do not have the expected results. All these are analyzed in the case at work. The assessment made is that big role in non-completion of the reform was the cessation of funding from the European Union together with the invasion of the economic crisis in our country.
