Abstract
One of the most important decisions a person must get in his life is what career should follow. This decision usually takes place at the conclusion of school commitments when the person must choose whether to study in a particular college or go directly into the job market. This moment coincides approximately with the aging of the individual, who is often not ready to take such a decision. The profession chosen by each individual will determine in a large scale his future not only about the economic sphere, but his mental balance and pleasure too. This choice, apart from the impressions and stimuli received from his environment and the actual conditions of the job market, should be consistent with his personality. Family and school environment should play a very important role in every person’s decision which apart from being involved in shaping his character should provide the necessary information and that the person has the appropriate image to make choices. The accurate information about the conditions prevailing in the job market may help the individual to avoid bad choices and future business deadlocks. The appropriate professional guidance should cover three main stages: a) information, b) the use of psychometric tools (tests) and c) the counseling process. These three stages are equally important in order to lead each person to the most appropriate choice of school or profession.
