Having developed the traditional approaches of hospital administration and management of patients, include a huge amount of information on paper and jobs with qualified personnel to perform these processes is the domain of medical informatics, aims to achieve the best possible support to patients as well as better management of the hospital. Following the new technological developments in the field of Health and Hospital in the 21st century, the Health Information Systems create an information infrastructure that will fully meet user requirements. Internationally special software has been developed with different features such as classification of patients in one of our department, staffing a nursing department, data processing management, human resource management, organization and management of patients and disease in a nursing department, organization of patient care. In more sophisticated Health Information Systems data are processed that can give information on nursing procedure or even nursing diagnoses. In Greece there are no widely used Health Information Systems due to significant shortages of trained and qualified staff, absence from the regular budget of the health institutions capable investment rate for the development of information and lack of institutional structure matters healthcare Informatics. The development of Health Information Systems can mainly help to reduce the exorbitant costs during hospitalization of patients, since there is the possibility of materials and examinations improved productivity in areas such as billing and archiving, reduction of medical and nursing errors can reduce unwanted treatments, and also improve the quality of health care.
