Management of moving objects' semantic trajectories
View/ Open
Abstract
As more and more devices and services enable positioning capability, production data traffic is growing exponentially fast. The requirements arising from this trend led to the development of Moving Objects Databases (MOD) and by extension in the Trajectory Data Warehouses (TDW). However, the challenges for more effective management and exploitation remain, and that is why a new approach regarding the integration of semantic on spatiotemporal information is gaining space, creating a new category of data, the semantically augmented orbits. Therefore, this project, based on HERMES MOD system and further operational functions in this direction, examines the features provided as far as their management and exploitation is concerned. For this purpose, a plurality of scenarios is applied in the form of queries on a given set of actual data from which augmented semantic paths result after the appropriate processing. Furthermore, various extensions were developed in this direction, which affect both the treatment and the production of knowledge from such data. Presentation of pseudo-code and testing of their functionality is given in the following chapters.
