One of the most complex organizations is the healthcare sector. The development came gradually following the course of medicine and incorporating new innovations. It was greatly influenced not only by science, but also by human values and the economy. The strategic objectives should be guided by the continuous improvement in the operation, management, organization and motivation of all stakeholders. In a continuous dynamic environment, such as the area of hospital, special effort needs to be done from every level of administration in order to achieve maximum effectiveness. In this paper reference is made to the organizational and administrative structure of tertiary care in the historical evolution of the Greek Health System, its operational factors, particular reference to the structure of its departments and relevant duties they undertake to carry. Subsequently, the study focuses on the organization and administration of all departments of the foundation «Evaggelismos». The history of the foundation is presented, detailing the structures of the blocks, modules and administration so the necessity of them to be comprehensible, in relation to the most precious gift: health.
