Business models of social enterprice: Case study of greek companies in the hospitality sector

Social enterprise aims at providing goods and services to its members and the community members in general. Since it is essential that a business model is established, so that its main framework is defined, in this thesis the most important business models of social enterprise are analysed. It is true that in Greece there is no social business in the sector of hospitality. For that reason a successful model, the case of the Italian non-profit organization Le Mat, was studied. Next the intention of Greek companies in the sector of hospitality to adopt a more social culture was investigated. Although the findings show a generally positive attitude, it seems that Greek companies are not ready to adopt a social business model. This is mainly because this attitude is accompanied by prerequisites and limitations which do not reflect the concept of social entrepreneurship.
