Since ancient times, books talk about long sea voyages in a ship for pleasure purposes, then follow voyages for immigrating purposes and finally, in 1950, the cruise trips hesitatingly shows up. The demand for cruises is rising and creates the need for building of more and more cruise ships which shall provide safety and security, fun, leisure and comfort to the passenger. As time passes new, bigger, stable ships are built with comfortable cabins, fast, flexible engines using more environmentally friendly fuels and facilities equal to the best and most luxurious resorts. A consumer, knowing the product of cruise and choosing it for his holidays, generates the opportunity and need for the economic and technological development in this very new shipping product, worldwide. Although Greece is considered to be the inventor nation of shipping industry, cruise sector is less developed in its economy, whereas America is the leading country.
