Who among us does not indicate a bad experience from a transaction with the departments of Public Administration? How many have wondered why the public sector is still clinging to negative past practices; Why is the setting of a regulatory framework to be able to achieve the cooperation and support between the various departments of the administration for the benefit of society and the economy? Today, in the era of constantly evolving digital era, open and free information all require the simplification of the procedures and practices implemented by Public Administration. It is commonplace to seek the services through the channels on the internet and in particular the ability of public administration to provide eGovernment services in the cells of the societies and economies of people, businesses and the cooperation between its services. These three questions and to my employment at the Hellenic Coast Guard was the motivation for the consideration of public websites and the ability to satisfy these requests of citizens and businesses which submitted through the electronic highway replacing the traditional channel for the physical presence at the services of Public Administration. The purpose of this thesis is to study the official website of Hellenic Coast Guard in light of eGovernment. The method followed was to analyze the factors of eGovernment, the comparison-presentation of the basic functions available on the home page of the public website of the Hellenic Coast Guard with three different cases corresponding public websites of EU countries. Finally, we examined the existing public website found online at www.hcg.gr at the framework of the eGovernment services.
