Abstract

This thesis involves the framework of stock market analysis of the banking sector in Greece. Initially, is made reference in money and capital markets and in the brokerage industry. Then we analyze the Greek banking system and some of the authorities as well as outlining the banks participating in our survey. The empirical study includes eight greek banks traded on the Athens Stock Exchange during the years 2004-2012. Purpose of selecting these years is to compare the results by the year 2008 which is a landmark of the global economic crisis.
