Abstract
In this thesis, the meanings of a project, an information system, an evaluation and a change, are given. Specifically, the life cycle of a project and the factors of a project’ success or failure are presented. Furthermore, there are determined the evaluation process, the aim of its implementation and its contribution to a system’s success. The models and methods, which are used in evaluation procedure, are shown. As for the change are discussed: change management, change management methods (Lewin’s 3 stages, Kotter’s eight stages and the 5 P’s model) for a successful change, the ways that change should be applied so that employees accept the change and the change management in information systems. Then, a case study is presented. The main concern of the study is to evaluate an information system entrance into a telecommunication company. Evaluation was performed using the qualitative method. The results that come from the questionnaires, which are given in the form of graphs, aimed to understand the reasons that workers reacted so negatively to the use of the information system. The system consists of a software, which is installed on mobile devices that are running windows (windows mobile), and a website, which is used into the company. The company’s managers identified problems to the company’s earlier functioning and proposed the information system’s insertion. The contribution that the change caused was presented by analyzing two working procedures, before and after the system’s insertion. Finally, the conclusions that come up from the evaluation are given. The most important of them are: the lack of the workers’ satisfaction and trust to the company and their dissatisfaction due to the change. The system’s use wasn’t difficult, as the employees claimed, but reduced their ability to act for their own interest. However, the system’s insertion wasn’t organized, no change management model was used, and the managers didn’t communicate with the employees to inform them about the change and its benefits.
