This thesis investigates and compares the institutional and fiscal framework for shipping companies in Greece and Cyprus. The aim of the study was to gather all those laws that govern the shipping companies today in order to attract new ones in the case of Greece and in the case of Cyprus. Analyzing all the instruments applied in the last decades in Greece and Cyprus. Analyzes how can a ship registered in Greece and Cyprus, how to set up a shipping company in Greece and Cyprus and finally how they will be taxed in each case.
