Seaborne trade is a field of high competition and a business area very vulnerable to various risks and maritime markets are always driven by the global business cycles. China made a lot of progress the last twenty years and managed to become a world leader in shipbuilding industry and maritime markets. These days China is largely a regulator of global maritime industry by influencing both supply and demand of shipping markets. New shipyards capable of building ship the same quality as Korea and Japan and at the same time demand for transport of raw materials in order to meet the demands of rapid growth of the economy and strengthen exports. Above all, China is the only economy in the world with great fluidity result of accumulation of the surplus of trade with the world market for the last decade. Undoubtedly, China has potential beyond real thirst for investment and safe placement of funds abroad. The scope of this essay is to discover the driving forces of the Chinese success searching for any competitive advantage. On the other hand, there is an interest for exploring the shipping strategy of China and the characteristics of the domestic economy which enhanced the aforementioned development. To this end, there is a multiple analysis or recent data which aim to identify trends and any co-integration between economic and maritime business cycles. The biggest problem in the next decade, it is the economic development of China itself, to come out conclusively how many ships will be employed, but whether China will increase its merchant fleet, to such an extent that would become self-sufficient in transport need. On the other hand, interest is the study of those elements of the economy contributed to this progress. For this purpose place the presentation of multiple recent statistics on the basis of which attempts to identify trends and co- integration between financial and shipping business circles.
