Abstract
Scope of this thesis is to study the financial situation a) of PPA from 1985 to 1999 and b) the company PPA SA from 2000 to today, with the purpose of comparative analysis of economic data in both periods. A financial analysis can be a powerful tool not only for assessing Authority’s progress so far, but also provide us with a clear assessment of its future picture as concerns its sustainability, competitiveness as well as its return on investment. An examination of company’s financial data will be based on budgets, accounts and the balance sheets regarding the first period (1985-1999) while for the second period’s analysis we will rely on data from financial statements of the Public Limited Company which will present the results of its liquidity, requirement and loan policies covering the whole range of activities, such as the functioning of coastal shipping, handling containers and wheeled vehicles and servicing cruise.
