The purpose of the present dissertation is to try to investigate and analyze if possible freight transport modeling. In the beginning it starts by trying to give a definition on what freight modeling is and what is their use in the freight transport industry. Then it continues analyzing the factors and criteria that influence the choice of transport type and discuss the differences between freight and passenger transport. After analyzing the four step model it continues examining current freight transport modeling platforms and their applications, the advantages and disadvantages they may have and future trends in freight transport modeling.
