Abstract
Game theory is a branch of applied mathematics, used in social and political sciences, biology and medicine, even in philosophy and psychology. Originally developed as a model of making decisions in situations of competition or conflict, and achieved worldwide recognition in the early 1940's, by the applications in financial sector made by mathematician John von Neumann and by the economist Oskar Morgenstern, in theirs' book entitled "Theory of Games and Economic Behavior ". Since then Game theory began spreading widely in many industries with significant applications with most important event the seven Nobel prizes, including the one to famous John Nash. Game theory allows the study, analysis and making decisions in situations of conflict of interest. So in the case of economic interests, game theory was the basis for the study of oligopoly problems, bilateral monopoly and others. Besides its applications in Economics, the games offered many in the study of political and strategic problems, giving in that way solutions to many daily problems. This work will try to present characteristics and strategies of the games through applications and examples, making a further analysis on possible parliamentary alliances created by the independent election of government weakness.
