Traffic accidents are a serious problem in most countries all over the world. Because thousands of people are killed or injured every year in traffic accidents, the European Community has set a target: to reduce car accidents by 50% by 2020. Greece has one of the highest numbers of accidents per capita. The main cause of car accidents is human error. It is commonly said that the Greeks do not have a traffic culture. And culture is cultivated when someone is young. Traffic education is lacking in almost all stages of education; and where it is being taught, it is incomplete. This course introduces children to the world of traffic signs. It teaches them the way to recognize traffic signs even if they have not seen them before and introduces children to the rules they should follow when they walk in town.
