The constant use of the Internet and the World Wide Web has led to a continuous development in technology concerning them. The Internet has to offer such great potential that its users continue to increase, and this, as a fact, in combination with the rising use of e-media (electronic media) have made the Web one of the most important means of information. This particular thesis aims to design and utilize an electronic music magazine (e-zine) by using and furthering an Open Source CMS. In order to fulfill the needs of this current website, we had to study Drupal as well as its core, so as to understand the way it functions and the potential it can offer. For starters, we offer a brief narration of how webzines (web magazines) evolved as well as the vital role they have played in delivering information on the Net. Afterwards, there is a review on Open Source CMS where we focus on how Drupal works. At the end, an analytical description of the procedure is provided as well as the steps taken so as to install, further and check the parameters concerning Drupal with the purpose to create a modern electronic music magazine. We have to mention that this web application, presented at this thesis, constitutes a part of a wider information system, that supports WEB 2.0 technologies, and it is presented on a second thesis and titled: “Operated dynamic content by using WEB 2.0 technologies”.
