Ιn this graduate thesis that quotes on the following pages, will be developed issues related to the protection of computer software from illegal use. For the best possible understanding of the reader, initially, it is referred to introductory concepts related to software. Further, the following thesis indicates the importance of the word piracy. Additionally it refers to the classification of types of software theft and ways of repression respective cases in the future. In addition, this thesis mentions the relevant Greek legislation, which deals the rights of software authors, the proper form and use of software by end users, as well as penalties for those who wish not to obey to the legal requirements. Moving towards the end of the thesis it is mentioned an extensive presentation of Greek and international jurisprudence. Mainly it consists of litigation cases which have occupied for too long the world of computing, taking great popularity.
