According to research data (source: Eurostat and other state survey services) almost 17,2 % of total European Union’s population is over 65 years of age. It is calculated that the amount of ageing population will continue to grow and will reach levels that were previously not known to humanity. This fact could represent a major problem regarding future pension funding of European societies, as well as a grim possibility about the wealth or even the survival of health care systems around Europe. At the same time, the current study makes clear that the average health status of Europeans is relatively good, given the fact a large part of the 50 – 80 year olds members of each country’s population is living wealthy and enjoying respectable quality standards. These figures could imply that a change is required as far as certain European countries’ political decisions are made, decisions concerning a probable social state shift of a big percentage of the ageing population, from pensioners into active, productive members of the production scheme – if such thing is judged to be acceptable. Moreover, the current study shows that the health and the wealth of ageing population could on the one hand be affected by a number of socioeconomic factors (age, education, country, etc.) but on the other hand it seems contradictory, if one considers solely some of these factors. The immensity of factors and the complexity of producing surveys that measure these factors’ importance creates difficulties in the formation and the approval of a linear relation.
