Abstract
The issues of income distribution are becoming increasingly important both in Europe and national level. The interest of economists in these issues has been strengthened in recent years because of the dramatic changes observed in the production process and social structure in the different countries, and because of accelerating globalization and interdependence of economies. The aim of this master dissertation is the analysis of income inequalities in Greece for the period 2002-2008. To achieve this, the relevant literature will be reviewed in order to place this research within a certain theoretical framework. For the analysis of income distribution used spatial analysis methods and descriptive statistics. In addition, calculated inequality demographic indicators using the statistical package R with a view to measure inequality for each year. From this thesis results that increases the average reported family income by the passage of time, grow outbreak similar high prices or similar low values of income, and grows income inequality in 2005. The data which used in the study are band on the reported average family income per tax return as supplied to the annual statistical bulletins of the General Secretariat for Information System of KEPYO, Ministry of Economics.
